About This Event / イベントについて
The Pro Wrestling Art Festival returns to the Artcomplex Center of Shinjuku for an 11-day run from August 6 to 16, 2026. The exhibition grew out of a series of connections that brought pro-wrestling-themed work into the gallery, and this year it returns with a renewed lineup of artists engaging with the spectacle, body and storytelling of the ring.
The Artcomplex Center of Shinjuku (ACC) is a long-running independent gallery in the Daikyo-cho neighbourhood, a short walk from Shinjuku Station and Akebonobashi Station. The 2F space regularly hosts contemporary art shows, and the Pro Wrestling Art Festival is one of its most distinctive annual fixtures — a crossover show that draws both the art crowd and the wrestling community.
Expect painting, photography, prints and mixed media that explore the visual culture of Japanese professional wrestling — masks, costumes, ring architecture, the choreography of the match, and the ritual of the entrance. The 2026 edition is timed across the O-bon holiday period, making it an unusual indoor option for a hot summer afternoon in Shinjuku.
