About This Event / イベントについて
The Albert Marquet exhibition at SOMPO Museum is the painter's first serious retrospective in Japan in 35 years. It runs 22 September to 13 December 2026 at 1-26-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, a five-minute walk from Shinjuku Station west exit. About 90 works come from Bordeaux, Le Havre, Hiroshima, and private collections in France and Japan. The hang follows Marquet from early Fauvism through the late Pont-Neuf series.
Hours are 10:00–18:00, Fridays until 20:00. Last entry is 30 minutes before close. The museum is closed Mondays, except 12 October and 23 November, and also closed 24 September, 13 October, and 24 November. Drawings change mid-run: first period through 1 November, second from 3 November. Audio guide (voice actor Toshiki Masuda) is ¥700. No group tickets.
Day tickets: adults 26 and over ¥2,000, 25 and under ¥1,200, elementary through high school free. Advance tickets are ¥1,800 / ¥1,100. A pair ticket (two adult entries) is ¥3,400 until 21 September via Asoview, Seven Ticket, Lawson Ticket (L-code 35711), and eplus. Bring ID if you are 25 or under. Hello Dial: 050-5541-8600.

Closed 24 September, the same night as Mori no Takigi Noh at Shinjuku Gyoen. Do not plan both on that Thursday.
9月24日は休館。新宿御苑の森の薪能と同日なので、その木曜に両方は組めない。
Friday evenings run until 20:00. Last entry 19:30.

No dedicated museum parking. Use nearby building lots.
