BERG is a beloved indie cafe and bar hidden in the basement of Lumine Est Shinjuku, just 15 seconds from JR Shinjuku Station's east exit. Operating for more than 30 years, it has earned a devoted following as one of the last independent establishments inside the station complex, a space otherwise dominated by chain retailers. Its vintage German gastropub aesthetic, with exhibition walls showcasing rotating art, sets it apart from the typical Shinjuku dining scene. The menu revolves around plump, springy sausages served in fresh buns, with the Hot Chili Dog at 420 yen and the classic Berg Dog at 320 yen being the star attractions.
