Marumo Kitchen is a donburi and rice bowl cafe situated on the eighth floor of Lumine Est Shinjuku, directly connected to JR Shinjuku Station's east exit. The restaurant is operated by BYO, the same group behind Udon Sabo KAKAYA, and it is one of only two Marumo Kitchen locations in Tokyo, offering a donburi-focused concept built around the theme of enjoying rice deliciously. The menu features over 20 varieties of rice bowls, incorporating seafood, meat and vegetables in combinations such as salmon with trout roe, avocado and pickled plum, and seafood dashi chazuke. Each bowl is served with a generous miso soup packed with ingredients, and the restaurant also offers a selection of desserts and cafe drinks for a full meal experience. Opening hours run from 11:00 to 22:00, with last orders at 21:30, and the 64-seat restaurant is located on the same floor as Konana and WIRED CAFE. Weekday lunch times see steady queues, so visiting outside the 12:00 to 13:00 window ensures a shorter wait, and the direct station connection makes it ideal for a quick meal between trains.
