Dashi Chazuke En is an ochazuke specialist on the basement second floor of Lumine Shinjuku 1, directly connected to JR Shinjuku Station's south exit. The restaurant focuses on chazuke, a comforting Japanese dish of rice topped with various ingredients and steeped in hot dashi broth or tea. Its convenient station-adjacent location makes it a popular choice for a quick, light meal at any time of day.The menu offers a variety of chazuke toppings, from salmon and seaweed to more elaborate combinations featuring seasonal seafood, pickled vegetables, and sesame. The dashi, the dish's defining element, is brewed carefully to create a clean, umami-rich broth that complements rather than overwhelms the rice. Set meals include miso soup and small sides, providing a balanced and satisfying meal without heaviness.
Opening from 08:00 to 22:00 daily, Dashi Chazuke En serves everyone from early-morning commuters to late-evening diners, with last orders taken at 21:40. Its position in Lumine 1's basement food court area means it is sheltered and easily accessible from multiple train lines. Takeaway options are also available, catering to those who prefer to eat at home or in the office.
