About This Event / イベントについて
Shinjuku's winter illuminations are among the best in Tokyo. The most spectacular display is around the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, where the plaza is lit with thousands of blue and white lights. The Southern Terrace and Shinjuku Station South Exit area also feature extensive light displays. The Tokyo Opera City building in Nishi-Shinjuku has a beautiful illumination as well.
The illuminations are usually on from around 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The blue "White Illumination" theme is the most famous, creating a winter wonderland atmosphere in the middle of the city. The view from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building's free observation deck is stunning at night with the lights below.
新宿のウィンターイルミネーションは東京でも有数の規模です。最も壮観なのは東京都庁周辺で、広場に青と白の光が幾千とも点灯します。サザンテラスや新宿駅南口エリアにも広範なライトアップが施されます。西新宿の東京オペラシティにも美しいイルミネーションがあります。
点灯時間は通常17:00～22:00。青い「ホワイトイルミネーション」が最も有名で、都会の真ん中に冬の幻想的な世界を作り出します。東京都庁の無料展望台からの夜景は息を呑む美しさです。
