About This Event / イベントについて
Shinjuku's winter illuminations are among the best in Tokyo. The most spectacular display is around the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, where the plaza is lit with thousands of blue and white lights. The Southern Terrace and Shinjuku Station South Exit area also feature extensive light displays. The Tokyo Opera City building in Nishi-Shinjuku has a beautiful illumination as well.
The illuminations are usually on from around 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The blue "White Illumination" theme is the most famous, creating a winter wonderland atmosphere in the middle of the city. The view from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building's free observation deck is stunning at night with the lights below.
